Into the Deep

“Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, and danced the depths on laughter-silvered wings;

downward I’ve dropped, and joined the tumbling mirth of sunlit kelp…and golden fish, and done a hundred things you have not dreamed of….wheeled and soared and swung….. deep in the dark blue silence.

Hov’ring there……..

I’ve chased the seaward currents along, and flung myself through footless halls of ocean green.

Down, down, down…the long, delirious burning depths, I’ve descended with easy grace……

And while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod the high untrespassed sanctity of the Deep…

…put out my hand, and…… touched the face of God.”

–with apologies [and thanks] to John McGee,

author of ‘High Flight’

*******************************************************************************

“If i should die beneath the sea

Whatever the circumstance may be

I only ask that you not cry

For such a lucky one was I

But, rather weep for those alive

Who know not what it is to dive

Into the planet’s liquid heart

And of God’s ocean be a part…..

    Mikey:

I miss your other site…stop fooling around with all that diving survey stuff and get your web site back up to the full glory we know you can do…I don’t have a web site I can send people to to see what we do…

I saw a typo in one of your dive reports…something like: “this will be the shortest dive report”….right…sure Mikey…you and short writing are oximoronic:) Besides we love the colorful verbosity…

I hope you and Barbara are having a good time counting, eating and relaxing…see you when you get back. I saw your post to Carl about not wanting to dive without two weeks of no vessel assist. Well last week was one and this week will be two… so by the time you two get back Scooby will be working and screamming…ready for the P38 or anywhere else…

Hello. We are a team of students in the School of Management at Boston University. For our classes this semester, we have a semester-long project in which we come up with a new product and develop the business plan for it. Our team has come up with a product for scuba divers; it is an underwater communication wrist tablet that uses handwriting recognition and text messaging capabilities to send messages to fellow divers while underwater.

One of the requirements for our project is to gather 200 surveys of consumer feedback in order to calculate the market interest in the product. We were hoping that you could post this survey link (http://bumanagement.qualtrics.com//SE/?SID=SV_8xfZmOKY88tPOII) on your blog, encouraging readers to take it. The results are anonymous, and will be kept confidential.

We really appreciate your time. Please e-mail us back if you have any questions at all. Thank you.
